Course Placement

Courses in the arts are electives taken for two purposes:

--to fulfill state requirements in the Visual and Performing Arts.

--to learn modes of creative expression while also gaining an appreciation for the arts in general.

Incoming 9th grade students may elect to take an arts course when creating their high school schedule or wait until 10th or 11th grade to begin fulfilling their arts requirements.

Beginning arts students take the introductory course of their choice (Studio Art I, Photography I or Ceramics & Sculpture) and then have the opportunity to advance to more in-depth coursework in those areas following completion of the intro course.
