The world language department is proud to announce a Celebrate Languages Ceremony will take place in each of our schools. Students will be recognized for earning the NJ DOE Seal of Biliteracy in one or more languages and/or being inducted into the Chinese, French, Italian, or Spanish National Honor Societies.

The Pascack Hills ceremony will take place Thursday, December 1, at 7:00pm, and the Pascack Valley ceremony will take place December 8, at 7:00pm, each in their respective auditorium.

A candidate to a World Language Honor Society must be a senior at Pascack Hills High School who:

  1. has had three years of the respective world language in high school.

  2. is currently placed in Level IV, IV Honors, V or AP.

  3. has maintained at least a 3.7 GPA in the world language.

Members of the honor societies provide ongoing peer tutoring, free of charge, as part
of their membership in this organization. Other honor society activities include a Thanksgiving Food Drive, community volunteering, collecting donations, and fundraising events. Members of each honor society receive a cord from the national chapter of the respective honor society to wear with their caps and gowns at graduation.
