Pascack Hills English teacher Dr. Alexandra Pfleging recently published her article, "The Social and Emotional Learning 'Layer'" in NCTE English Journal, the national, peer-reviewed journal for high school English educators. Dr. Pfleging references information gleaned from her doctoral dissertation research and presents it in the ‘Speaking My Mind’ column in English Journal, where she makes the case for English classrooms as the perfect setting for social and emotional education to take place along lessons in literature, language, and speaking.
