Over the weekend of February 10-12, the Pascack Valley Regional Dance Team (PVRDT) competed at the 2023 Dance Team Union (DTU) National Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida. The competition had a field of over 170 teams from around the country. The PVRDT competed in three different divisions with three different routines for the first time in seven years, adding a Hip Hop routine this year. The three divisions the PVRDT competed in include: Small Varsity Pom against 30 teams; Large Varsity Team Performance against 9 teams; and Medium Varsity Hip Hop against 22 teams.
The PVRDT placed as follows:
  • 1st Place, National Champions, in the Small Pom division.
  • 4th Place in Large Team Performance
  • 5th place in Medium Hip Hop
The PVRDT is comprised of 15 dancers on the Varsity team, including five seniors, seven juniors, two sophomores, and one freshman from both Pascack Hills and Pascack Valley High Schools. The team is coached by Dena Noone, who is celebrating her 30th year with the team, and by Valentina DeSantis who is with the team for her 9th year. The Pascack Valley Regional High School District is incredibly proud of our regional dance team for their continued excellence in representing our community.
