Italian Virtual Exchange Program

Pascack Valley HS Hosts Virtual Exchange Program with Italian High School
Graphic: Flavian Amphitheatre (Italian Colosseum)Hillsdale, NJ, April 6, 2022:  The Pascack Valley High School AP Italian and Italian V classes recently hosted teachers and supervisors from area high schools who were interested in learning about PV’s ongoing, synchronous, virtual exchange program with students from the Liceo Rossi in Massa, Italy. Professor Ilaria Galli, teacher of English at Liceo Rossi, and her students, with whom PV has worked since the start of the year, also attended.

Pascack Valley’s Italian exchange program originally started as a way to connect with students across countries during the initial lockdown in 2020. It has now developed into a well crafted and continuous virtual educational experience that has enabled the Pascack Valley and Liceo Rossi classes to  dive deeper into topics and discussions, occasionally with guest speakers. The program has fostered global awareness amongst the students and the development of lasting friendships.

PVHS AP and Italian V students meet with their Italian counterparts on a weekly basis. During this particular session, the topic of the lesson was environmental conservation, and students were joined by guest speaker Dr. Scagliarini, a professional botanist.
