As per the New Jersey Department of Education’s “Road Forward” Plan, the district will provide remote instruction to quarantined students in a manner commensurate with in-person instruction to the extent that is possible.
All quarantined students must log in to class via their teacher’s permanent Google Meet link for attendance purposes at the start of class with their camera on. If the camera is not on, the student will be marked absent. These procedures only apply to students who are quarantined due to COVID, not absences due to other reasons.
Remote instruction starts typically a full day after the school is notified that a student needs to quarantine. The first day out of school will be treated the same way as if you are sick and at home during a normal year. Log onto the teacher’s Canvas page, engage in the work that you are able to, and reach out to the teacher via email for further assistance.
If you are unwell and unable to engage remotely in schoolwork, simply do not log on for the day and the day will be counted as an absence due to illness.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to your teacher, guidance counselor, or building administrator if you have any questions or concerns. We hope to see you back in school soon. Stay safe!
