Region II provides School-Based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services to its member districts to support the implementation of student’s IEPs. The intent of School-Based ABA services is to provide a supplementary aid and/or service consistent with NJAC 6A:14-4.5. These services “…enable students with disabilities to be educated to the maximum extent appropriate with nondisabled peers.”
In addition, School-Based ABA services may provide behavioral supports to students in General Education, those on 504 plans, and those receiving Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS).
Behavior Consultants and Instructors meet regularly with classroom teachers and assistants, child study team members, and parents. Student observations are frequently conducted to support recommendations for positive behavioral supports.
