General Technology Questions

Q: What is the best way to get technical help?

A:
When in school, students are encouraged to stop in the Tech Room and speak with one of our Technology Specialists.  Our rooms are open from 7:30 to 3:30 each day.

Alternatively, students (and parents) can email their respective school Tech Team for assistance.  Doing so alerts everyone of the issue so the most appropriate and available person can help.  Here are those addresses:

Q: "My fan is very loud… my internet isn't working… my battery has disappeared... my battery is dying too quickly AND/OR… my computer feels hotter than normal! What can I do to fix it?"

    A: Try the following:

    • Turn off your MacBook Air®
    • Connect your Power Adapter
    • On the left side of your keyboard, hold down the "SHIFT" "CONTROL" & "OPTION" keys
    • While still holding down the keys mentioned above, press the "POWER" key and then simultaneously release all of them.
    • Adapter light should go from Orange to Green and then back to Orange (if battery isn't fully charged).
    Reset Macbook SMC

Why does this happen? It usually means that you are not restarting your laptop frequently enough.  Try restarting more often.
